In Ireland’s first test against Australia in Brisbane, Jordi Murphy played the full 80 minutes. Australia won the match 18-9, impressing with their incredible defence. The second test is in Melbourne on Saturday. The Ireland Under 20s suffered a narrow loss to an impressive Georgia in their final pool match in the Under 20s World Cup, Georgia’s first ever pool win the the competition. Irish captain Caelan Doris put in another incredible performance & he has the most offloads in the competition to date & his 41 tackles thus far is the second highest across the board. Joy Neville took charge of several pool games in the final round of the HSBC World Sevens Women’s Series in Paris. After some excellent performances, Joy was appointed to referee the final between New Zealand & Australia where the Kiwis won 33-7. Despite the loss, Australia took the title this year. It was disappointment for Wexford & their Assistant Coach Mags D’Arcy as Kilkenny clawed back a nine point deficit at half-time to win 0-22 to 1-18. Darragh Maloney was lead commentator for RTE’s coverage of the Leinster Football Championship game between Dublin & Longford. It was a tough day at the office for Longford as Dublin ran out easy winners with a 2-25 to 0-12 scoreline. Dave McIntyre was Sky Sport’s lead commentator for the Tyrone v Meath, after extra time Tyrone won out the game 2-14 to 0-19. On Thursday, Richie Sadlier was the key speaker for Spirit Ford’s “Working on Wellness” event.
