Last Wednesday we had our Navy Blue Sports End of Summer Party in No 27, The Shelbourne. It was a great occasion where many of our Talent got to meet each other and some of our invited guests.
The Dublin Ladies Gaelic Footballers & Sinead Goldrick appear to be in full flight as they overcame Galway 4-8 to 1-10. They now head to Croke Park to take on Cork in the All-Ireland Final in 3 weeks.
The pre-season rugby friendlies continue. Ulster lost 31-14 to a tough Wasps team, in the Ricoh Arena. Marty Moore got his first start in the Ulster jersey and got a valuable 54mins & Nick Timoney again found his name on the score-sheet with a try in the left corner after some excellent Ulster play.
Connacht ended their pre-season friendlies with 3 wins from 3, which sets them up nicely after a 14-12 win against Bristol. Matt Healy continues to be a head-ache for defences and again crossed for a try. Craig Ronaldson came on in the 53rd minute and continued to help Connacht drive forward and added the conversion to Matt’s try.
It was another good run out for Munster rugby with plenty of rotation in the squad, but they lost 12-0 to Exeter Chiefs. Bill Johnson got a good 44 minutes of rugby. Brian Scott started the game, was replaced but then returned to the fray for the final 10 minutes. Dan Goggin continues to impress in the centre with 60 minutes of hard work. Darren Sweetnam showed how threatening he is when given any amount of space. Fineen Wycherley & Darren O’Shea came on in the second half and proved to be strong in the engine room.
David Johnston has continued to settle in to Ealing Trailfinders & he and the team produced a fine performance against Harlequins in atrocious conditions. David took control of the kicking duties and slotted a penalty in the 16th minute.
