It was a great end to the season for Leinster Rugby as they retained their PRO14 crown with a battling 18-15 win over Glasgow Warriors. Rhys Ruddock was a man to the fore in this game, showcasing all his worth in attack and defence. Garry Ringrose was quickest to react to score Leinster’s first try, he plays with a level of maturity beyond his years. Bryan Byrne and Andrew Porter both entered the match on the 63rdminute and brought an added energy at that point in the game. It was great to see Ross Molony back after injury to come on and finish the game out. It is important to acknowledge that this was a squad effort and the likes of Fergus Mc Fadden, Noel Reid, Caelan Doris, James Tracy and in the earlier part of the season Tom Daly.
Over in the Czech Republic Arthur Lanigan O’Keeffe and Natalya Coyle were competing in the World Cup 4 in the Modern Pentathlon. It was a good weekend with both of them finishing in the Top Ten. It was particularly important weekend for Arthur as he needed to make up points to ensure he could go to the World Cup Final in Tokyo. The World Cup Final in Tokyo is an Olympic qualifier at the end of June.
